Cover up spots without hiding away
Whether it’s adult acne, rosacea, pigmentation patches or just THAT damn pimple you couldn’t resist squeezing: we’ve got tips on how to cover up your skin’s trouble spots.
When it’s big and angry but otherwise undisturbed:
First apply your foundation as normal. Then take a concealer, in the exact colour of your foundation: not lighter, yellower or greener; they will highlight the blemish. A cake concealer in a pot or a heavily pigmented cream is ideal for lasting coverage. Use a soft, rounded brush (nothing defined that will aggravate redness), and push the concealer over the spot. Don’t wipe it over or the spot will show through. Use a light covering of loose powder over the top to set it in place.

When you’ve squeezed it and it’s weepy:
Wash and dry your hands, then push on the spot with your finger to stop it leaking. If you’re running late, bad luck – you need five minutes at least. Play with it straight away and it will just keep weeping.
Use the same concealer as above but a smaller brush, like an eyeliner brush – so you can be precise. Place a little concealer on top of the spot. You don’t need to blend it, because it’s your exact colour; just place it over like a plug. Powder it. If it’s still slightly weepy, apply a bit more concealer over the top then powder again.
